I'm a physicist and engineer leading the Scientific Instrumentation Workshops at EMBL, which develops new instrumentation and technologies for life science research together with internal and external research groups. I have extensive experience building hardware and software tools for diverse scientific projects, with particular experience developing automated systems with integrated acoustic, optical, and fluidic components.

I received my PhD in mechanical engineering from MIT specializing in fluids, acoustics, and optics. Before that I studied physics at the University of Chicago, with a research focus on granular matter and imaging.
